Could EWF protect windows system?
Japanese customers usually turn power off to shutdown windows system. If the storage is hard disk, it's easy to crack hard drive. For SSD, msata, it seems to have chance. Below is the experiment.
1. The hardware system with 64 GB msata card. (c: 20 GB with ws7e, the rest of disk is d:. )
2. page file set to d: and install scala player to d:
3. enable ewf then boot system. windows is up then start to run scala demo.
4. Directly unplug power cord then plug power again (bios needs ro enable apac function.
5. After unplug & plug power cord 100 times, the scala player is running without any delay or crash.
The ewf feature seems could protect system with abnormal shutdown but it needs more hardware samples test to prove.
